SCORM Package Rename in Adobe Captivate

“Captivate E-Learning Course” getting you down? Change the default name of your SCORM packages in Adobe Captivate 2019 so that you can differentiate them when they’re all in your LMS (Learning Management System).

When you publish your Captivate projects as SCORM packages, you’ll find that the SCORM package name defaults to “Captivate E-Learning Course” in learning management systems like Canvas. And you may not be able to change it in the LMS! You can’t in Canvas, anyway. What a pain!

If you have a long list of SCORM packages all named identically as “Captivate E-Learning Course,” it’s a big problem that will eat up a lot of your time.

The setting for this is difficult to find and took me quite a while to hunt down! I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that Captivate made something difficult. I was also surprised that there wasn’t much documentation out there explaining how to find this setting in Adobe Captivate 2019.

Be sure to check out my video on how to publish and upload SCORM packages in Storyline, Captivate, and in Canvas LMS.

You’ll find the setting you need under Quiz Preferences, Quiz, Reporting, then click “Configure” next to the SCORM version info. You’ll also be able to change “Course Object Title” if that’s a thing you want to do as well.
