I’m an expert user of Articulate Storyline. I’ve taught Storyline for many years and I absolutely love figuring out how to push what it can do. Here are three of my favorite projects.
APA Citation Tutorial
Most tutorials that teach college students to use citation styles are boring! I took a different tack with this APA citation tutorial, which is a real world simulation that also uses games to teach APA formatting style. This is really several Storyline projects in one: a desktop simulation, research sources that can be browsed (book, article, website), and several games to help teach citation formatting.
Interactive Coloring Book
Completed for an E-Learning Heroes Challenge, this is a deceptively simple project that shows off my neat and tidy use of states and variables, necessary to “color” a beautiful desert vista, just like a coloring book page.
Library Tutorials
My goal with these four tutorials was to scale up library instruction. This project was a suite of four tutorials designed to give students at Cal State Fullerton an orientation to Pollak Library and how to do basic library research. These tutorials lived in our campus learning management system, Moodle (locally known as TITANium). I configured Moodle to issue a digital badge upon completion of each tutorial.
