New! Free Ebook: Get Started with Augmented and Virtual Reality for Learning

Thanks to a generous grant from my campus’ Faculty Development Center, last semester I was able to research and write a short ebook on Augmented and Virtual Reality for Learning! I’ve licensed it under Creative Commons so that it may be freely used, reused, adapted, and shared (Creative Commons Attribution NonCommercial).

This guide is intended for newcomers to augmented and virtual reality that wish to learn about these technologies and use them in teaching, training, and learning. I teach in a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology program at California State University, Fullerton, which has many students from K-12, higher education, and corporate training backgrounds, so I have endeavored to make this document usable for both educators and trainers. This guide focuses on free and open source websites and apps to allow anyone to get started quickly and easily, and with no coding required.

Contents:

  • Overview of Augmented and Virtual Reality
